Our athletes delivered an impressive performance at the Scottish Student Sport Kyu Grade Championship in Cumbernauld, showcasing skill, determination, and the results of months of focused training. Congratulations to Karl, Barry, Imogen and Jude for representing the club with pride and passion.

Barry Claims Bronze in His First-Ever Competition

In his debut outing, Barry exceeded all expectations. Competing with confidence and grit, he fought his way onto the podium and secured a well-deserved bronze medal. A fantastic milestone that marks the beginning of an exciting competitive journey.

Jude’s Improved Attacking Rate Earns Him a Bronze Medal

After putting in serious work to raise his attacking tempo, Jude delivered one of his strongest performances yet. His increased initiative and pressure in the exchanges paid off, earning him another bronze medal. A clear sign that his training direction is working.

Karl Gains Valuable Experience in a Tough Category

Coming off a successful run at a recent Grand Prix, Karl stepped into a particularly demanding category. While it wasn’t his day for medals, he gained valuable competitive experience and learned lessons that will only make him stronger for future events. His resilience and attitude remain top-class.

Imogen Wins Her First Gold With Aggressive, Progressive Judo

A huge highlight of the day came from Imogen, who captured her first-ever Gold medal in Judo. Her performance was exceptional — driven, technical, and relentless. She showed excellent newaza transitions, applied pressure throughout, and delivered her strongest judo to date. A standout milestone in her development.

A Proud Moment — and Just the Beginning

We’re incredibly proud of all four athletes. Their hard work, commitment, and fighting spirit were clear for everyone to see. These results are a fantastic marker of progress — but more importantly, they’re only the beginning.

We can’t wait to see what the next stage of their journey holds.
