This year’s theme, “Peace, Unity and Friendship,” perfectly captures what we stand for at Ultimate Judo Aberdeen.
Judo isn’t just a martial art — it’s a way to build respect, empathy, and genuine human connection.
One of the most powerful things about judo is how it brings people together from all walks of life.
Religion, culture, ethnicity, gender — none of that matters once we step onto the tatami. What matters is the humanacross from you: the respect in the bow, the honesty in the grip, and the shared effort to learn and grow together.
In that moment, everyone is equal. Everyone belongs. Everyone has a place.
I’ve personally made many friends from around the world and experienced incredible opportunities through judo — things I could never have imagined when I first started.
That’s the real magic of judo: it connects us far beyond the mat.
Here in Aberdeen, that same spirit lives on every day at Ultimate Judo Aberdeen — where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities train together, learn from one another, and form friendships that last well beyond class.
At Ultimate Judo Aberdeen, the dojo is more than just a place to train.
It’s a place to feel safe, to grow, to improve, and to help others do the same.
Most importantly, it’s a place where everyone belongs and has a place.
Our dojo has become a strong community within Aberdeen — full of encouragement, teamwork, and genuine support.
We see people from every walk of life sharing the tatami, learning together, and building confidence side by side.
Jigoro Kano founded judo on two timeless principles that still guide judoka everywhere:
Kano taught that every movement, action, and decision should serve a meaningful purpose.
It’s about working smarter, not harder — focusing our effort where it matters most.
Perhaps the most beautiful idea in judo.
We grow stronger not at the expense of others, but with them — helping one another improve, succeed, and find confidence through shared effort.
These values are at the heart of everything we do at Ultimate Judo Aberdeen.
When we bow on the tatami, we’re not just starting practice — we’re reaffirming trust, humility, and friendship.
To everyone who’s part of our judo family — students, parents, coaches, and friends — thank you for helping make Ultimate Judo Aberdeen such a positive and welcoming place.
Whether you’re a beginner finding your feet or an experienced judoka sharpening your technique, you’re part of something truly meaningful.
This World Judo Day 2025, let’s remember that the real strength of judo lies in connection, kindness, and community.
The friendships we make and the lessons we learn stay with us far beyond the dojo.
Here’s to Peace, Unity and Friendship — on the mat, and in everyday life.
