This year’s festival, supported by the Motability Scheme, was another fantastic success. With children taking part from across Grampian, the day was packed with energy, smiles, and inspiring moments.
Many of our members live with a disability, and we know first-hand how powerful judo can be as a sport for everyone. From building confidence and coordination to creating friendships and resilience, judo is more than competition – it is community.
At this year’s event, coaches Gordon and Keith were proud to deliver an inclusive judo session tailored for children with physical disabilities, vision impairment, and hearing loss. Their patience, enthusiasm, and expertise helped create a safe, fun, and empowering environment for every participant.
Unlike many sports, judo adapts naturally to individual needs and abilities. Whether someone is experiencing judo for the first time or building on existing skills, the sport encourages problem solving, balance, respect, and determination.
That’s why we say Always Forward – because every step on the tatami, big or small, is progress.
The Parasport Festival is more than just a day of sport. It’s a chance to showcase what inclusive judo and the wider disability sport community in Scotland are achieving together. It demonstrates the heart of judo – respect, courage, and friendship.
A special thank you goes to the event organisers, Grampian Disability Sport, the Motability Scheme for their support, and to photographer Frazer for capturing the smiles and action from the day.
We’re already looking forward to the next Parasport Festival. For Ultimate Judo, events like this remind us why we train, teach, and compete: to share the benefits of judo with everyone, no matter their ability.

Always Forward.
