This past week saw our second Ultimate Judo Camp of the summer take place at the dojo. We had 26 enthusiastic kids from across our classes taking part, spending the week training, learning new techniques, and building new friendships.
A real highlight was seeing our young helpers step into leadership roles. They showed great maturity, helped lead warm-ups and games, and supported the younger kids throughout the week. It was fantastic to see them grow in confidence and skill.
"It’s been the best part of my summer so far!" – Student, age 9
"I loved helping out this week – it felt good to be trusted to lead." – junior helper
Our summer camps aren't just about keeping kids busy. They're a chance to stay active, develop discipline, improve focus, and spend time with friends in a safe, supportive space.
"I’m so glad my son has something positive and structured during the holidays. The coaches have created such a welcoming, fun environment." – Parent of a 7-year-old
"It’s great to see the kids supporting each other and keeping up their Judo over summer. My daughter comes home buzzing." – Dojo parent
They’re also a great help for parents, offering reliable and active childcare during the long summer weeks.
Over the next two weeks, we’ll be back delivering sessions as part of the International Schools Camps, helping even more young people across Aberdeen discover Judo and all it has to offer.
Then, to close out the summer, we’re back at the dojo for our third and final Ultimate Judo Camp. If your child has enjoyed the camps so far or hasn’t had the chance to join in yet, this is the perfect opportunity to be part of it before school starts again.
"I didn’t want the week to end – can I come back next time?" – student, age 8
"I learned how to throw better and made a new best friend!" – student, age 6
We’d love to see as many familiar faces as possible back on the mats to finish the summer holidays together. Whether your child is a complete beginner or has been training with us for a while, there’s something for everyone at camp.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s been involved so far – your support, energy, and trust mean a lot to us. Let’s keep the momentum going and make the most of these last few weeks of summer.
