Coaches Stuart & Gordon Take Steps to Support Our Club Through Bereavement

certificate from winston's wish

Ultimate Judo has always prided ourselves on being more than just a club—we’re a community. Over the past year, we’ve faced our own losses, and we know that many of our members are also experiencing the pain of losing loved ones. In these moments, support and understanding can make all the difference.

To ensure we are better equipped to help, our coaches, Stuart and Gordon, have recently completed a short online course on bereavement support for teachers and educators. While coaching is at the heart of what we do, we recognize that life beyond the game matters just as much. By gaining this knowledge, we hope to provide an extra layer of support to those in our club who may be struggling.

Grief is different for everyone, and there’s no "right" way to process loss. But what we can do is listen, understand, and be there for each other. If you ever need to talk, our coaches and club members are here to support you.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we support.
