Dr George Kerr CBE

Come and hear the story of one of the world's greatest judoka from the legend himself.

Club President, George Kerr is coming to the International School of Aberdeen theatre to give a talk on his life in Judo. From humble beginnings, learning Judo in Edinburgh to reaching the highest level of Judo earning his 10th Dan, George will talk us through his journey which took him all over the world and earned him the nickname of Mr Judo. He will talk of the highs and lows of trying to become the world's best, the friendships made, and his experiences earning top honours from Her Majesty the Queen and the Emperor of Japan.

He will be coming one week after his 86th Birthday for a one-off talk with our members. This is an opportunity to hear from someone who reached the very top of their art and ask questions along the way.

Children under 14 will go free of charge but must be accompanied by a paying adult.

George's book my journey to the 10th Dan will be available for purchase on the day (signed) This book weighs a whopping 2kg and is a hardback collector's book owned by judoka all over the world. Each ticket for the event will give you £5 off the book on the day only. The book is £30 full price and we ask for cash only please.
