Scottish Samurai Cadet Honours for Sam and Tristan

The award was held at Mannofield Cricket Ground, home of the national team. A star-studded audience watched cadets from across Scotland being recognised for outstanding service, commitment to excellence and living with Budo values. Sam Lynch and Tristan McCathie were put forward for outstanding dedication to Judo, showing the drive for self-improvement and displaying Budo values in day-to-day lives. Both have shown amazing progress, both have visited, trained in and experienced Japan and Tristan even helped the club over lockdown with his Train With Tristan sessions held online, taking the pressure off coach Gordon who was waiting for knee surgery.
Those in attendance included the Lord and Lady Provost, The Dean of the Guild of Burgesses and other distinguished guests. It was so humbling to see so many youngsters receive awards for their attitude towards excellence.
Well done to all involved and congratulations Sam and Tristan, the first two junior judokas to call themselves Scottish Samurai.
