Nathan Walker lands a spot on the podium

19 May 2022

Ultimate Judo's newest coach Nathan Walker competed in the Clyde Grand Prix, his first competition post covid.

Heading down to Glasgow with a new fire in his belly, Nathan was focused, mature in his approach, prepared, and with a newfound confidence in his Judo. He has been training hard both in the club and with the team at Garioch Judo club who welcomed him into the fold for more randori practice.

In a group of 5, brown belt Nathan was up against 4 experienced black belt fighters. He held his own in some tough matches, showing excellent Judo at times, mature composure and even managed to throw one opponent in 5 seconds.

Nathan now aims to use the experience to try and go one better by getting into the final at the Granite City Grand Prix in June at the Aberdeen Sports Village.

Well done Nathan, you fought well and are starting to believe in yourself.
