Coronavirus update March 17th 2020

18 March 2020

Unfortunately our classes will be cancelled whist the world battles this terrible Coronavirus.

Dear Members

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

The announcement by the government that the country is now in the delay stage of the corona virus pandemic has caused us to further look at our position with regards to safely running our classes.  After taking advice from our governing body, Judo Scotland, we have no alternative but to close the club with immediate effect.

The safety of our members, their families and our community is paramount to us and we have to follow the advice of the experts to do the responsible thing. As our club has now over 300 members, our decisions effect a large number of people in the local communities and we must think about the parents and often grandparents who are bringing them to classes and putting themselves at risk.

Currently we are closed until 31st March however we will be reviewing the situation weekly with the government and National Governing Body advice. Weekly updates will be issued to all members through email, website and facebook.

If any of our members experience any of the symptoms, please follow the up to date instructions on the NHS webpage and self isolate to prevent spreading. If any of our member families need assistance, please get in touch and i can try to drop off groceries, medication etc.

No one has seen anything like this and no one really knows what happens next. I would like to thank you all in advance for your understanding and support. The club has been pushing hard to grow and offer the best opportunities within Judo to our community. This makes this decision all the harder but we must put safety first.

Please look after yourselves and remember to keep in regular contact with friends and loved ones who are self isolating. A call or FaceTime can really help keep spirits up.

Whilst closed I will be working just as hard as normal, preparing self study sheets for our gradings and planning for new additional challenges for our students on our return.

Kindest regards

Gordon and Yati
